When we lose hope, things turn sour. Our chests become restricted. Our world becomes narrow. We no longer feel appreciative. We become depressed because we incorrectly conclude, “Allah doesn’t want good for me, He will take me into account and punish me.”
Brothers and Sisters, we MUST stop buying into this poisonous mentality IMMEDIATELY.
When we start despairing in the Mercy of Allah, that He is Al-Rahman (The Inherently Merciful) and will forgive you and me, and will do good to you and me, and will enter you and me into Jannah, then we have opened up a very dangerous flood gate; an extremely dangerous pathway we start taking.
What pathway is that?? The pathway to disbelief and atheism.
Our hearts stop having hope in Allah’s mercy, we start thinking and believing that we can’t expect Allah to have mercy on us, and then we stop recognizing mercy in the world, we no longer see the world as being envoloped in mercy. Our hearts start hardening and becoming immune to the mercy all around us. We start feeling that there are no really signs of Allah, and they’re doubtful at best. Our hearts stop being affected by Quran, and Allah’s speech. Our hearts start having doubts if all of it is real, and that Prophet Muahmmad was really a messenger. And then, if we continue this way, our hearts could start getting sealed and becoming inpenetrable to true evidences and proofs that are staring us in the face. Our hearts lose a sense of gratitude to Allah, in what He has given us. Rather, the heart starts doubting whether or not Allah even gave those things. The heart gradually goes into denial, and when Allah’s help, support, and mercy is mentioned, the heart starts disliking hearing about that, and denies all of that.
My brothers and sisters, if you lose your hope in Allah that He is Merciful to you and me, and that He will forgive your sins and enter you into Jannah, then you are risking becoming a disbelieving atheist, and letting arrogance and denial take root in your heart.
I ask Allah to protect us all from a heart that is void of rahmah, and has lost hope in His Rahmah. May Allah perfect our hope in Him, so much so that we have no hopes and aspirations stronger than in Allah’s Mercy and His Paradise.
